Meet Mirka Vlckova
Founder, Montessori Institute Prague and Montessori schools Andilek
Mirka found Montessori when her youngest son was born. With no pedagogical or management background and no start-up funding, she built a parent-child programme that grew into a kindergarten and an elementary school.
She later opened and ran an international Montessori teacher training centre and acquired a farm and land for an adolescent programme. Over the past decade she has raised more than €1.8 million in grants and other funding.
Today she still serves on the board of the school she helped found, and she runs a Montessori business. More about Mirka's work
