AMI Montessori 6-12 Diploma Course focuses on the development of the child as well as on interdisciplinary approach to the study of human beings, their endeavours and relationship with the universe for children from six to twelve years. This hands-on Montessori training provides the framework and tools for successfully teaching what works for each child, regardless of their socioeconomic status and stage of development. You will use the principles of Montessori education to foster a hands-on, self-paced, collaborative, and joyful classroom at any school, anywhere in the world.

Enrollment criteria and requirements:
- Ability to pursue academic work
- University or college degree
- English proficiency at C1 or higher (both spoken and written)
- Motivation and persistence to become a Montessori teacher

Applicants without a degree can also apply and their applications will be considered individually. Students without a degree can be accepted to the course based on probation terms. Also, when translation of the course is available, we accept students without knowledge of English.

Our facility is conveniently located in the city center, easily accessible via public transportation. The area is renowned for its lush green surroundings, and the complex itself is enclosed from the hustle of the city by a private garden space.
Course administrators and other staff members are always on hand at our training center to help orient the students and provide support during the studies.
DIRECTOR OF TRAINING
Carla Foster

Carla Foster is an AMI Elementary Trainer originally from California but has been living in Norway since 1995. Carla has AMI 3-6 and 6-12 diplomas from MMI in London and the Montessori Institute of Milwaukee. She has worked with children at levels 3-6, 6-9, and 9-12, working in both private and public Montessori schools. She has been an elementary trainer since 2011.
Carla has been working on the creation committee for the timeline and chart and has a unique insight into the whys and hows of what was chosen to represent our earliest history as a species.
Kyla Morenz

Kyla Morenz is an AMI Elementary Trainer from Toronto, Canada. She has AMI diplomas at both the 3-6 and 6-12 levels. She has taught in 6-9, 9-12, and 6-12 environments in Canada and Morocco. She has lectured on courses in North America and Europe. Kyla is also currently part of the expert team in Bilingual Montessori Erasmus project run by Montessori Institute Prague.

The course runs from July 2027 to May 2029 and is divided into six modules with blended participation. It combines intensive onsite study in Prague with online follow-up sessions, concluding with a final examination module. Both onsite and online attendance are required.
The course includes 440 hours of intensive training in the Montessori Institute Prague training center, more than 200 hours of supervised practice with Montessori materials, 600 hours of independent reading and study, 90 hours of observation in Montessori Elementary classrooms, 120 hours of practice teaching, and required reading of around 20 books.
Yes. Graduates receive the AMI course completion certificate awarded by the Association Montessori Internationale, founded by Dr. Maria Montessori. This qualification is recognized worldwide and allows graduates to work in Montessori Elementary environments across the globe.
