Heidi Philippart
Heidi Philippart is an AMI Trainer at the Assistant to Infancy level (0-3) and has worked with Montessori 0–3 for more than three decades. Based in Amsterdam, she trained in Denver with Judi Orion and has learned directly from pioneers of the AMI Assistant to Infancy programme, including Silvana Montanaro. Heidi is also an AMI Trainer of Trainers and an AMI External Examiner.

The AMI 0–3 Diploma Course is a professional Montessori training focused on child development from birth to three years. It combines Montessori pedagogy with contemporary medical and developmental knowledge and prepares adults to work with infants and toddlers with care, clarity, and respect.
This course is designed for people working with infants or toddlers, as well as for those seeking deeper professional preparation for the first three years of life. It is suitable for educators, assistants, caregivers, parents, and professionals looking for meaningful growth and an internationally recognized Montessori qualification.
You will gain a deep understanding of development from birth to three, learn how to observe infants and toddlers, and understand how to support independence, movement, language, and emotional development. The course also develops practical skills for preparing environments for the home, community, and early childhood settings.
The course starts on October 10, 2026 and is divided into 4 modules with blended participation. One module is fully online, two combine onsite and online learning, and one is fully onsite in Prague. Both onsite and online attendance are required.
The course includes 532 total hours, with 221 hours online and 311 hours onsite. It also involves 400 hours of classroom-based training, 140 hours of supervised practice with Montessori materials, 250 hours of observation of children from birth to three years, required reading, and a minimum of 90% attendance in all course activities.
Yes. Graduates receive the AMI Diploma awarded by the Association Montessori Internationale, founded by Dr. Maria Montessori. This qualification is globally recognized and allows graduates to work in Montessori environments worldwide.
The course takes place in Prague, Czechia, with a combination of onsite and online participation. The study language is English, and if there is sufficient interest, interpretation for live lectures and translation of written handouts into other languages can be arranged.
