What happens when Montessori has decades to mature?

Over 25 days, we visited Montessori schools, training centers, adolescent programs, public initiatives, and communities across the USA and Mexico.

Some environments were deeply established, shaped by generations of experience.
Others challenged our assumptions about where Montessori belongs, who it serves, and what is truly possible.

This journey changed the way we think about:

  • Montessori leadership
  • quality and consistency
  • adolescent practice
  • accessibility
  • long-term school development
  • and the future of Montessori in Europe

Now, we want to open this experience to you.

Not as a travel report.
But as a deeper reflection on what Montessori can become when it is allowed to mature, adapt, and truly live in different realities.

ℹ️ Choose how you want to join:

Start with the free live webinar and explore the biggest insights and reflections from the expedition.

Then continue into the full 3-hour masterclass for a deeper practical exploration of Montessori across cultures, systems, and realities.

Online Masterclass

Montessori Across Cultures, Systems, and Realities

A focused 3-hour deep dive into the most important lessons, patterns, and reflections from our Montessori expedition across the USA and Mexico.

Masterclass
June 4, 2026  •  5:00–8:00 p.m. CEST

3-hour live online masterclass + recording

This masterclass brings together the most important lessons, observations, and practical insights from the expedition into one focused deep dive.

Rather than isolated stories, we will explore the deeper patterns behind what makes Montessori environments sustainable, authentic, impactful, and alive across different contexts.

This is not about copying schools from abroad.

It is about understanding:

  • What helps Montessori truly flourish
  • What weakens it over time
  • What mature Montessori practice actually looks like
  • What we can thoughtfully bring into our own environments and communities
01

What Mature Montessori Looks Like in Practice

Some of the schools we visited have been developing for over 50 years.

What changes when Montessori has time to mature?

We will explore:

  • What long-established Montessori communities do differently
  • What creates long-term stability and consistency
  • Common challenges growing schools face
  • What European schools may be able to learn from these environments today
02

Adolescent Montessori Beyond Theory

We visited adolescent environments ranging from farm-based communities to urban programs.

What makes these programs truly work in practice?

Together, we will look at:

  • Structures behind sustainable adolescent programs
  • How responsibility and real work are integrated
  • What supports independence beyond surface-level activities
  • Lessons from both rural and urban models
03

Montessori Beyond the “Elite” Narrative

One of the strongest themes throughout the journey was seeing Montessori in contexts many people would never expect.

We will reflect on:

  • How Montessori adapts across social and economic realities
  • What accessibility truly means in practice
  • How environments maintain authenticity while responding to real community needs
  • What this may mean for the future of Montessori education
04

The Question of Quality

What truly defines a high-quality Montessori environment?

And how do schools sustain that quality over time?

This part of the masterclass explores:

  • Recurring patterns we observed across strong environments
  • Leadership and organizational structures behind consistency
  • Accreditation and quality processes in practice
  • The difference between “looking Montessori” and deeply living Montessori principles

Mirka Vlckova

Founder of Montessori Schools Andílek & Montessori Institute Prague

Mirka Vlckova first encountered Montessori when her youngest son was born. Despite having no formal training, financial resources, or external support, she was determined to bring Montessori education to her child. Starting with a volunteer mother’s group, she successfully established a Montessori kindergarten and elementary school, followed by an international Montessori teacher training center, and later, an adolescent farm program.

Hana Chramostova

Director of Montessori Schools Andílek

Hana is a school leader and strategist with years of experience as a principal in Montessori education. She focuses on building strong teams, clear systems, and environments where Montessori principles are lived consistently in daily practice.

Her work centers on aligning people, processes, and vision, helping schools grow into stable, authentic communities where both adults and children can thrive.
