Special Needs in Montessori Classrooms
COHORT 2
New ideas and a fresh perspective to support all children with special needs
Join a unique mentoring experience tailored for anyone serving children in Primary, Elementary, and Adolescent Montessori environments. Our series is a compass for transformative teaching, providing expert guidance to enhance your skills and create an inclusive learning haven.
"Most days, I leave school feeling exhausted and defeated."
"How can I support them when they are struggling?"
"Why can’t I reach that child?"
"How can I embrace their disability and help them grow and learn?"
Over the course of 6 sessions, we will:
- Recognize and meet sensory needs in the Montessori classroom
- Build confidence and skill in managing difficult behavior
- Learn about the importance of self-regulation and how to assist children to grow in their skills of handling big emotions
- Identify ways to support children with autism in the Montessori classroom
- Investigate student-specific issues alongside colleagues from other schools, learning from their experiences and perspectives, and formulate a tool to take back to your program
- Master the art of having difficult conversations with families and colleagues for respectful, clear partnerships
