PART 1

The Third Plane of Development

Maria Montessori described adolescence as a period in which young people seek their place in society and long for meaningful participation in the adult world. In this session, participants will explore the developmental needs of adolescents and the educational response they require.

PART 3

Student Cooperatives in Practice

How can a student cooperative become part of a Montessori adolescent environment? Drawing from practical experience at the Montessori Oberschule Strausberg, this session will present examples of how adolescents engage in real entrepreneurial and community-based activity.

PART 2

Economic Independence in Montessori Education

This session focuses on the meaning of economic independence in Montessori adolescence. Participants will examine how real economic activity can support responsibility, confidence, dignity, and the gradual transition toward adult life.

PART 4

Meaningful Work and Practical Implementation

In the final session, participants will reflect on how meaningful work can be brought into their own settings. We will look at implementation strategies, common challenges, and ways to connect Montessori theory with daily adolescent practice.

MEET THE SPEAKER

Timo Nadolny

Timo Nadolny is an educator, Montessori practitioner, school leader, and international Montessori trainer from Germany. He holds both the First and Second State Examination in Education, an International Montessori Diploma, and has worked for many years in adolescent Montessori programs.

For nearly a decade, Timo has been involved in the development of Montessori adolescent communities within the Montessori Foundation Berlin. His work focuses on Maria Montessori’s Erdkinder concept, meaningful work, student responsibility, and the connection between education and real life.

He currently leads the development of the Montessori Oberschule Strausberg, where adolescents actively engage in community life, practical work, and entrepreneurial projects through a student cooperative.

Timo believes adolescents do not want to be prepared for life, they want to participate in it, and this workshop is his invitation to bring that belief into your own school.
