Small-group online mentoring for practising Montessori guides, assistants and school leaders, working on real classroom questions with experienced AMI trainers.
How Our Mentoring Works
Mentoring at Montessori Institute Prague is group work, not a lecture series. A small group meets online with an experienced mentor over several months and works through the questions its members actually bring from their own classrooms and schools.
Every program shares the same shape:
- online on Zoom, so you can join from anywhere
- a small group, with places usually capped between fifteen and twenty
- five to seven live sessions, each ninety minutes to two hours
- sessions spread across the school year, not crammed into one weekend
- led by AMI trainers and experienced Montessori practitioners
- a certificate of attendance from Montessori Institute Prague
Some programs add material to watch before a session, so the live time can be spent on discussion rather than presentation.
Who Mentoring Is For
Mentoring is for people who are already working with children or already running a school, and who want to think their practice through with someone who has done the same work.
Our groups bring together:
- guides working across all age groups, from 0-3 through to 12-18
- assistants and support staff in Montessori environments
- school leaders, principals, board members and business managers
- specialists, such as language teachers, working inside Montessori classrooms
Several programs are open to trained and untrained educators alike, so a diploma is not a condition for joining every group.
Programs We Have Run
Each group is built around one theme and one mentor. Recent groups have covered:
Mentoring for Primary (3-6) Guides
Madlena Ulrich, AMI Trainer for 3-6
Seven sessions for practitioners in Children's Houses: observation, grace and courtesy, errors and corrections, cooperation with parents, art and botany.
Advisory Program for Montessori Administrators
Sue Pritzker, AMI trainer for the Administrators Certificate course
Five sessions for principals, board members and business managers on hiring, policy, communication and difficult conversations.
Assessment in Montessori 6-12

Six sessions on practical assessment and formative approaches for guides, assistants and language teachers in Elementary classrooms.
Special Needs in Montessori Classrooms

Six sessions for educators in Primary, Elementary and Adolescent settings, open to trained and untrained staff alike.
Groups Are Small, and They Fill Quickly
Every mentoring group is deliberately small, so places are limited from the start and most groups close before the program is announced widely. Several of the programs above are already full and running with a waiting list.
The people on our list hear about a new mentoring group first, while there are still places in it. Write to us and we will let you know what is opening next, and for which age group.

What is Montessori mentoring?

Participants receive a certificate of attendance from Montessori Institute Prague.
