2026 is practically already unfolding

2026 is practically already unfolding

There are moments when you suddenly realize how quickly everything is moving.

For me, this came recently as I looked ahead at the coming months. Travel plans, global projects, courses, conferences… and I caught myself thinking:

2026 is practically already in motion.

And what a movement it is.

Adolescent Program Tour USA & Mexico

2026 is practically already unfolding

I can’t believe it.

In just one month, I will be on an airplane, flying to Denver, Colorado.

You might be wondering why Denver.

For me, it is deeply meaningful. It is home to the AMI Training Center founded by Judi Orion, someone I truly admire. She once told me that the 0–3 environment at our training is the most beautiful she has ever seen. That moment stayed with me, and now I finally have the chance to visit her training center.

But Denver is only the beginning.

From April 18, I will be embarking on the Adolescent Program Tour across the United States and Mexico. During this journey, we will visit several remarkable Montessori environments:

  • Compass Montessori School
  • Hershey Montessori Farm School
  • Post Oak Montessori School
  • Colegio Montessori de Chihuahua, the oldest Montessori school in Mexico

The tour will culminate in Mérida, at the heart of Yucatán, at the International Montessori Congress, where I will have the honor of speaking.

I will be away for a full month. My suitcase is already out, and I am slowly preparing for what feels like a truly significant journey.

Last month, I shared reflections on the 98 diplomas we have printed and the question of how we measure the real-world impact of our work. Today, that impact is beginning to take a much more concrete and systemic shape.

AMI Global School Accreditation

Montessori Institute Prague is now officially an AMI Authorised Accrediting Company.

We are currently piloting the AMI Global School Accreditation with nine schools:

  • four in Czechia
  • four in Romania
  • one in Lithuania

These schools are now in the Self-Study phase, working with the AMI Global School Accreditation Standards and Criteria. This process is not about external judgment, but about deep reflection, collaboration, and identifying meaningful areas for growth.

It is incredibly exciting to see the global Montessori community moving toward a shared understanding of quality.

You can read more about the pilot here:

What’s on the horizon

Before I leave for the United States, we are focusing on something very important.

Bringing high-quality Montessori directly to you.

The Best for the Youngest Conference

https://amiprague.cz/the-best-for-the-youngest-online-conference/

This international online conference, led by AMI trainers, is designed to make the highest level of Montessori knowledge accessible, no matter where you are.

I even made a quiet bet with my colleagues that we will reach more than 1000 participants.

Not because of the number itself, but because it would mean that this level of quality is reaching further than ever before.

If you would like to make this conference available in your community, or even in your language, feel free to reach out at mirka@amiprague.cz.

AMI 0–6 Orientation Course (Summer)

https://amiprague.cz/assistant-courses/online-ami-0-6-orientation-certificate-course/

This summer, we are bringing together what feels like a truly exceptional combination of trainers:

Heidi Philippart
Madlena Ulrich

It is a combination you will not want to miss.

When you look at everything that is happening across our global movement, it really does feel as if the year is already unfolding at full speed.

Time moves quickly when we are working together to serve the future of humanity.

Video report from 23 Montessori environments

As part of my own learning journey, I am currently completing the 3–6 Diploma Course with Madlena Ulrich.

Recently, together with Hanka, Head of our Montessori Andílek school, and four children from our community, we visited Fundatia Montessori Cluj.

During this visit:

  • elementary children joined the elementary environment
  • adolescents participated in the adolescent program
  • I observed in the 3–6 environment
  • Hanka shadowed the school leadership

It was a powerful opportunity to see Montessori lived across all levels.

Here are a few resources and opportunities I would like to share with you:

7th Nordic Montessori Conference
If you feel like traveling to Denmark at the end of the summer, this is a wonderful opportunity. I will be there and speaking. More information is coming soon.

A thought for this month

“Teaching is about making learning happen. The better we understand how learning works, the greater our potential for impact in the classroom. Just as a doctor who understands the body can better diagnose and treat, a teacher who understands cognition can better plan and respond.”
Peps McCrea

Moving forward together

When I look at everything that is unfolding right now, I do not feel overwhelmed.

I feel something else.

A sense of connection.

A sense that we are not doing this work alone.

Let’s continue to learn about the child.
Let’s continue to refine our work.
And let’s stay connected with others who share the same mission.

Yours with love,
Mirka
