Montessori Adolescent Program Development in Action.

Friday, January 8, was an important day for Montessori Institute Prague and Montessori School Andilek. We could call it the turning point of our adolescent program!🗝🎊

We’ve had the farm for our students for a few months now, but only now were they able to enter the house.🏡

Everything has its time, and so we also gave the previous owners of the farm time to say goodbye to their home and move elsewhere.

Now the development of the adolescent program can truly begin. We will step into a period full of discoveries and challenges with open hearts and open minds.

Even though there is a lot of work ahead of us all, we feel happy. We are excited about the space, the opportunity to start the big work.

We are looking forward to cooking, evenings together, having enough time for all the activities, projects, and new sources of inspiration.

So far the farm stays have only been in an outdoor form. Now, however, it all truly begins. We can finally settle in, take care of our environment, learn, work and make this big dream a reality.

2022 will be the year of constant change and development for our own adolescent program.

To support its development, connect with other locations working for similar goals, and to help our community gain new knowledge for their work with the adolescents, we have planned two AMI Montessori 12-18 Orientation Certificate Courses with Jenny Marie Höglund as the course directress, and Lesley Ann Patrick, John McNamara, and Karl Bruun as the course lecturers.

We will start the first AMI Montessori 12-18 Orientation Certificate Course online on February 4, 2022, and will have the second one on our farm in the summer!

We are looking forward to hearing Paul Pillai talk during the Montessori Adolescents Online Community Conference on January 22, 2022. We will do our best to learn more from his vast experience, as well as from all the colleagues around the world who join the conference to meet, talk, discover the challenges, and work towards solutions.

The timing could not be better, and the name of the keynote by Paul says it all: Getting Sh*t on Those Boots: The First Five Years of the Young People’s Community. We are ready to hear this talk, and how about you?

We took time to remember the previous projects and events that we organized. We would like to thank everybody who participated in the development of  Montessori Adolescent Programme Inspiration (Erasmus+). We share the methodology of the project here, maybe it will inspire some of you who haven’t seen this project yet.

Looking back, we see so much work that we have accomplished already, but the truth is – it’s just starting.

In the meantime, we are giving our students some peace and space to get used to their new reality, their new home. We are thinking of the further development of the farm, and we are looking forward to showing you around in the summer! 🙂
